This has been a very exciting conference for me (and the approximately 9000 others) because we are in a “wave” year! In fact, they had a cool video of a surfer getting towed behind a wave runner to catch a tsunami size wave – that was a metaphor for the impact of the amount of new releases coming from MS this year.

Windows 7 just crossed another milestone – it was released to MSDN as a Release Candidate. I have been running it since a fellow consultant shared Beta Build 7000 with me in December. Thanks Jason Sharp! Windows 7 has been a great operating system for me – much better than Vista! So I just had to write up a blog about the 7 things I like most about it. These are listed in order of their value to me.

I have been a fan of Windows Mobile (WM) devices for years – since the Windows CE days. I have owned other phones, like the Palm Treo, but I keep coming back to the Windows Mobile platform. My son thinks iPhone is hip with its slick interface, but I find that my AT&T Tilt running WM 6.1 has more practical uses (6.1 is an unofficial ROM from HTC). My wife is tired of hearing me say how much I love this phone, but it’s truly the best phone / PDA I have owned yet!
