Migrating DHCP using Windows Server migration tools

A surprising number of clients are still managing their Active Directory Forests and Domains with Domain Controllers that run Windows 2003 R2 or older. To take full advantage of Windows 2008 R2 features including Group Policy Preferences and the Active Directory Recycle Bin, existing Domain Controllers need to be upgraded or replaced. This process takes careful planning and thought as existing Domain Controllers typically run critical services such as DHCP which need to be migrated with a minimum impact to production systems.

Get your head out of the sand and into a boat if you want to ride out the tsunami rolling in with cloud computing

I spoke with a small business owner recently whose new employee was trying to convince her to throw away her legal pad and get a smart phone and a slate. This woman also didn’t know anything about the cloud.
